The Diamond, Sheffield

The Diamond is an £81 m project designed to be the home of the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Sheffield offering modern multidisciplinary teaching and learning. CCL designed and installed the post-tensioned flat slabs from the first level to the fifth, as well as transfer beams at level one.

The Tower, St George, London

This 49-storey tower stands 181 metres high and is the tallest sole residential building in the UK. The Tower is part of the St George Wharf development located beside the River Thames. CCL designed, supplied and installed its XF system for 25,000 m² of slabs over 44 levels on this prestigious project.

Plymouth Road Bridge Bearings, Blackpool

A 3-span road over rail structure, Plymouth Road Bridge required a bridge deck replacement involving the installation of 45 precast concrete beams. CCL reviewed the original bridge bearing schedule and was able to reduce the number of bearing types to two, providing a cost-effective solution for the client. CCL Elastomeric Bearings were installed over two consecutive weekend periods to avoid disruption as this road is the main route into and out of Blackpool.
